Have you ever considered how the environment causes premature aging? But I mean deeply think about its affects on your skin. It’s common knowledge the sun has adverse effects but have you considered pollutants? Unfortunately, I cannot explain the scientific reason why pollutants accelerate signs of aging. However, on a basic level if your skin has dirt and oil and you’ve been exposed to pollutants, it’s only logical that the dirt and oil on your skin have traces of daily pollutants. Makes sense, right? Well, Dermalogica released the predecessor Daily Superfoliant to its beloved Daily Microfoliant.
As of recently, skincare products all seem to share the following ingredients, CBD, charcoal and Hyaluronic Acid. Dermalogica’s Daily Superfoliant is everything but hype. As a resurfacing exfoliant, it contains Activated Binchotan Charcoal that purifies the skin by absorbing toxins without stripping the natural oils. It also contains Niacinamide – typically used to prevent acne and also used as an anti-inflammatory. Other ingredients include, Red Algae and Tara Fruit Extract to guard skin from damage caused by pollutants.
The Superfoliant is easy to use, simply dispense a tablespoon onto wet skin. Gently massage in circular motions for one minute and rinse with warm water. I was expecting the formula to lather, instead it created a paste fluffy paste. After rinsing, my skin felt exfoliated brighter but not dry. If you have dry skin, you can check out another great option (here). Simply put, the Superfoliant has become the type of cleanser exfoliator duo that is a pleasure to use.
