When Nikki Tutorials released her empowering video, “The Power of Makeup,” she reminded us makeup is more than face paint. Which made me think-what makeup product creates the biggest impact? If I had to choose, I would say eyeliner. I find it magical how a single black line drawn on one’s lid has the ability to make such a transformation both physically and emotionally. With so many eyeliners to choose from, my go-to has been the KVD eyeliner in Trooper. I would have never considered a gel eyeliner, since I always thought felt tip pens were just easier to work with. This all changed when I met MustaeV Cosmetic’s Smudge Proof Catwalk Gel Liner.
The Catwalk Gel Liner is packaged in a cute, clear pot that is perfect for travel. It contains a Net WT of 4.86 G/ 0.16 oz. of product. It has a thick, creamy, gel-like consistency with an opaque, matte-black finish.
In comparison to Ingot’s Eyeliner Gel, MustaeV’s Eyeliner Gel is a true-matte finish whereas Ingot’s Eyeliner Gel has a satin finish.
The application is seamless; like spreading butter on warm toast. I love using either a Bent Eyeliner Brush or a Flat Definer Brush. If you look at the picure below, a little goes a long way. Another reason why I hate using gel eyeliners is their short shelf-life. I’ve had this eyeliner pot for a few months now and it hasn’t dried up. That alone makes this eyeliner a keeper.
For a precise line, I recommend using a small amount of product and slowly building upon if necessary. The formula of the gel eyeliner isn’t fast drying so you will have plenty of time to create a look before it sets.
With eyeshadow or worn alone the MustaeV Cosmetic’s Smudge Proof Catwalk Gel Liner creates a bold opaque look. If you aren’t already loving this, brace yourself…. it’s also waterproof and smudge proof! So if you have hooded eyes, you’ll be safe from the horrid transfer that usually happens throughout the day.
The MustaeV Cosmetic’s Smudge Proof Catwalk Gel Liner has quickly become my go-to eyeliner. Not only is it extremely simple to use for just about any look; it’s long lasting. As a disclaimer, I have dry skin. I cannot say how this would work for those with oily skin. Anyone who has ever used eyeliner before knows the dramatic effects it creates. Whether you’re looking for a sophisticated, sexy or wild look; Eyeliner simply finishes up the look. It’s the final touch.
