MustaeV Skinny Tint Foundation

It’s no secret that Korean Women are bestowed with beautiful, flawless complexions.  Lets take a moment to actually admire small pores, lack of fine lines and radiant smooth skin.  Until recently, women in the States were unable to purchase beauty gems from Korea unless they personally travelled to Korea’s Beauty mecca Seoul.

Both Korean Makeup and Beauty brands have immersed onto the presence of the American Consumer to such a degree and magnitude it’s clearly by no mistake.  As a person living in LA, long are the days where Korean beauty products could only be purchased in Korea town or through a friend.

Brands such as Moonshot, Laniege, Mizon, Tony Moly, and Skin Food have become household names.  MustaeV, pronounced “Must Have” should be no exception.  I was first introduced to this brand back in March when I had the pleasure of attending The Makeup Show LA.  Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to try several products from their collection and can truly say their line is a must have!

Today, I will be reviewing the Skinny Tint Foundation, which is available in four shades: Innocent, Bright Beige, Sand Beige, and Sienna Beige.   As of now, the collection is designated for those with lighter skin tones, however their line is expanding. Sienna Beige, a deeper medium tone was recently released.

Each foundation retails for $33.00, has SPF 20 and contains 1.35 oz of product.  They can be purchased at the MustaeV site, so there’s no need to book a flight to Seoul.

Now lets talk about the packaging. . .   The sleek minimilist aesthetic is concurrent throughout the MustaeV cosmetics line.  Similar to their eyeshadows,  The Skinny Tint Foundation is packaged in the same black color scheme.  The packaging’s style may change seeing as the newly released Sienna Beige is packaged differently.  Although different, both styles share the concept of displaying the foundation’s shade through the transparent acrylic tube.

Not only is the packaging aesthetically pleasing but functional as well.  I love that the foundation comes with a pump that pushes the product upwards ensuring you use every last drop.  My only gripe about the acrylic packaging is that it’s not glass.  By no means does the acrylic feel or appear cheap, but after seeing how well the foundation performs (spoiler alert)  I would definitely associate this with a higher end product and therefore wish the packaging in turn would elevate its appearance.  But by no means is my concern  a deal breaker.

Now let’s talk about the foundation:

For a point of reference, I am someone who has fair skin with pink undertones.  My go-to foundations are: Diorskin Nude in 020 and bareMinerals BARESKIN in Bare Linen 03.   Above I have swatched both Innocent and Bright Beige.  With only a slight color variation, I found that I gravitate towards the Foundation in “Innocent” but will be using “Bright Beige” as summer progresses.  As you can see below, I feel Innocent is a perfect color match.

Once applied, The Skinny Tint Foundation blends seamlessly for a beautiful satin finish.  I personally wouldn’t classify the foundation as dewy because it does not feel tacky or sticky when I touch my skin.  The formula is hydrating so I do agree it would appear dewy for those who fall under the category of having normal skin.

What I really enjoy about The Skinny Tint Foundation is how amazing it feels and that it looks like real skin.  Unlike other foundations that sit on top of the skin and feel like paint, the Skinny Tint blends beautifully for a medium to light weight coverage.  It feels extremely comfortable as though you aren’t wearing foundation at all.  I would recommend this for days when you don’t want a heavy formula but still want coverage.

Don’t be fooled by how light weigh it feels, because it does have the technology to cover up redness, acne and broken capillaries. I love that it does not settle into my fine lines or pores.  Simply put, this foundation feels really really nice while also having the power to make my skin look amazing and hydrating.

Overall, I am in love with MustaeV’s Skinny Tint Foundation and would recommend this light weight formula for the summer.

    Your skin looks flawless!

I’ve been interested in trying brands from overseas too. And this foundation looks like a good one to try and track down. It looks great! As do the cupcakes lol.
