The “Elixir Color Sensational” glosses are the creation of Maybelline New York. These glosses were originally released in 2013 as part of their permanent collection. Having said that, I understand these aren’t “new”. However, in the spirit of Valentines Day these beautiful pink tones were too beautiful to pass up; I simply had to have them.

At the time of their release, the applicator was among the very few that strayed from the traditional doe foot applicator. This is a great drugstore alternative for the YSL “kissed shaped” applicator lovers out there. The pointed tip allows for precision around one’s cupid’s bow.

The packaging alone is beautiful. Compared to other drugstore glosses, they appear more expensive than their $8.99 (0.17 oz). I love that the gloss is in a clear tube, allowing ample possibilities for storage without compromising the color’s visibility. I hate when items can only be stored in a particular manner due to their packaging.

The glosses are overall very comfortable to wear. They smell very sweet but not overpowering. The only issue I have is that they do not taste sweet but like fragrance. The taste isn’t as strong as other fragrant products but not one I’d particularly care for.
The formula is not at all drying. I appreciate that the gloss actually moisturizes and does not just sit on my lips. These coverage is translucent and not at all opaque. They have a high gloss affect due to their micro shimmers. (So for all you matte lovers, you may want to pass). Don’t be discourage, they have micro shimmers, not at all chunky.
Aside from their taste, these glosses are perfect for any gloss enthusiast!
