May might be gone but the Ipsy Bag was Amazing!

Are you ready for our Monthly Ipsy Bag Breakdown?  This month has been the best so far!  As a friendly reminder, Ipsy is a Monthly Subscription service that costs $10.00 a month to receive 5 beauty samples.  Although the monthly service costs $10.00 the value of the items you receive inside the bag are not.  So join me this month to see the value of my May Ipsy bag was really worth the price.

FEARLESS HAIR RESCUE TREATMENT

Fearless Hair Rescue Masque by “Beauty & Pinups”  6.0 oz – Retails for $32.00

The first sample I received in my Ipsy bag is from the brand, Beauty & Pinups.  I love that Beauty & Pinups provided a decent-size sample.  I hate foil packet samples since they never provide enough product to decide if it work.  For a point of reference, the Hair Mask sample contains 1.0 oz of product and has a Retail value of $6.00.  Fearless Hair Rescue Masque is a Castor Oil based hair mask that claims to undo the damaged caused from using heating tools.  As a person who uses a hair straightener multiple times a week, I am in dire need of a Hair Mask that works.

Luxie Foundation Brush

Luxie Deramcatcher Precision Foundation Face Brush 660 – Retails for $23.00

The second item is by far the best.  Can we have a moment of silence.  The May Ipsy Bag reached a whole new level of awesomeness after it provided a full sized Luxie Foundation Face Brush.   I have yet used the brush but I think it would be great for contouring.  It is intended for foundation but I prefer a flat kabuki brush.

Caked Makeup Low Key

Caked Makeup: Low Key – Retails for $16.00

Another item included in the May Ipsy Bag is Caked Makeup’s Lip Fondant in the shade,  “Low Key”.  Described as a beautiful, matte, mauve, terracotta that pulls either red or pink.  I love how versatile the shade is for both Summer and Fall.

Artist Edition - Luxe Longwear Eye Liner Pens

The one thing I love about Ipsy that it allows you explore new brands at an inexpensive price!  Before this month, I’ve never heard of the brand “Starlooks” so I was excited to try the full sized Eye Liner.  The Eye Liner retails for $19.00 and is unique because it is dual ended.  On one side is a deep black, pigmented, Felt Tip Eyeliner and on the other side is a Stamp in the shape of a star.  Starlooks offers four other shapes: Lip, Heart, and Smiley.

Urban Decay 'Afterglow Highlighter'

Finally, the last item is Urban Decay ‘Afterglow’ 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in “Sin”.  The full sized product contains .23 oz and retails for $26.00.  The sample we received contains 2.4 g which is 0.0846575 oz.  Therefore the sample has an estimated value of $9.57.  ( My math might be wrong but consider it a rough estimate).  Sin is a beautiful highlighter.  You can also use this highlighter as an eye shadow.

So was this month’s bag worth it?  Well after adding up the values of the samples I would say absolutely!  For $10.00 I received three full sized products and two samples for a total of $73.57
