For your skin’s sake, don’t rely only on Makeup Wipes.
My first Beauty Resolution for 2017 is to ditch my Makeup Wipes. I’ll be the first to admit removing my makeup at the end of the day is not my top priority. Laziness at its best, I gravitate towards Makeup Wipes as they are fast and convenient. Simply grab a wipe and swipe the gunk off your face. For some reason, I prefered using wipes over using a cleanser and water. This recently changed after learning a disgusting truth – Makeup Wipes leave behind makeup in your pores. I ventured out in the world of cleansers and fell in love with a gentle, hydrating cleanser that removes your makeup without stripping your skin and moisturizes without leaving it greasy.
Ironically, Lather’s Cucumber Milk Facial Cleanser is not a Makeup Remover. The 6 oz bottle retails for $21.00 and can be purchased at Lather.com (here). The cleanser has a fresh, Cucumber scent that does not smell artificial or overpowering. I love to combine this non-foaming formula with Lather’s Cleanse and Buff Facial Brush. “It is a botanically-based formula with a high content of antioxidants to help prevent free radical damage caused by sun exposure and pollution”.
The Lather Cucumber Milk Facial Cleanser is easy to use. Apply the Cleanser to damp skin and massage in circular motions. My initial reaction after applying the product, I wasn’t fully convinced. The formula felt too mild on my skin. I had wiped off my makeup with a wipe. Having low expectations was an understatement – my face was already clean and the formula felt too mild to work.
Boy was I wrong! The Facial Brush looked absolutely disgusted. Not only did I feel dirty, I felt betrayed. My biggest beauty mistake of 2016 is assuming my face was clean if the makeup wipe was clean. Not only did I waste countless wipes, I probably went to bed with clogged my pores.
Makeup Wipes are fast and convenient. But they shouldn’t be the only thing you use to remove your makeup. An easy New Year’s Beauty Resolution to make is to remove your makeup at the end of every day. Consider this, if it takes you longer than two minutes to apply makeup – I highly doubt it should take two minutes to remove it. Fortunately for me, I found Lather Cucumber Milk Facial Cleanser.
