Derma E Hydrating Cleanser and Night Cream

For the sake of my skin, I hope the weather in L.A. finds itself.  Lately, its bipolar temperatures have wrecked havoc on my skin.   Shifting from a 90 degree morning to a 50 degree evenings has caused my skin to become its driest.  As you’ve noticed my blog has focused on dry skin this past month and well with good reason.  Dry skin is aging!  Did you know it causes premature wrinkles?  Combined with fine lines and my dark underage circles I’ve aged ten years.  Dramatic? Yes! But my quest to conquer my skin concerns is justified.   So I was especially happy to receive Derma E’s Hydrating Cleanser and Night Cream, which contain Hyaluronic Acid.

What’s the big deal with Hyaluronic Acid?

If you haven’t heard, Hyaluronic Acid is allegedly the “new” fountain of youth.   Take it as you may, but the Beauty Community has made up its mind.  I think once “Violet Voss” creates a designated section for a “Key Ingredient” – you know it’s time to listen.  So what is it?  Well, Dermae describes Hyaluronic Acid as, ” a moisture magnet that can hold up to 1000 its own weight in water and has the ability to attract and bind water molecules, keeping collagen hydrated and health and plumping, softening and smoothing skin” (DERMAE).  This might not be an actual scientific explanation but if you are a person with dry skin like myself – this sounds like a miracle agent.  Also, note to self, I need to do more research on Hyaluronic Acid.

Hydrating Night Cream – 2 oz

Retails for $29.50

The Derma E Hydrating Night Cream is a thick, hydrating night time moisturizer.  It has a faint delicate scent that I found relaxing.  However, if you are delicate with scents, I recommend looking at a sample before purchasing.  The Hydrating Night Cream has a consistency of a Cold Cream.  Other Creams that may appear similar are: Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream, IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream. The Derma E Hydrating Night Cream quickly absorbs into the skin without leaving behind an oily residue.  Although it is a Cold Cream, I can see this working well for most skin types from oily to dry as it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.  Full disclaimer, it left my skin replenished with a natural glow in the morning.

Derma E Hydrating Cleanser

Hydrating Cleanser – 6 FL oz.

Retails for $15.50

Compared to traditional Hydrating Cleansers, the Derma E Hydrating Cleanser does not have a cream base.  Instead, it is a clear liquid that suds.  As someone who normally uses clean based cleansers, I can appreciate the bubbles forming as I massage my skin with the product.  However, with that being said I was even more surprised to find the Hydrating Cleanser removed makeup.  If you have sensitive eyes, I would recommend this as a cleanser for only removing foundation or face makeup.  I would not use this to remove heavy eye makeup since it does contain fragrance.  You could also use this as a second cleanser if you double cleanse.

Have you tried anything from the Derma E Hydrating line?  I’d love to hear your thoughts.
