Martha & Marley Spoon

If you knew me, you’d know the majority of my early adulthood was spent eating out.  Like a true Millennial, I too was a boomerang kid.  In turn, I found solace in Casual Dining.  Each new spot created a makeshift dining room as it masked the reality of my housing status.  Having my own place has removed such need but created a whole new problem – coming up with things to cook.  Cooking at home for seven days a week is admirable – I still can’t do it.  It’s down right time consuming.  Cooking at home requires creativity and don’t forget you also have to keep track of  your inventory for both the sake of freshness and your finances – all of which Martha Stewart’s Meal Delivery Service Marley Spoon solves.

Cooking at home requires creativity and don’t forget you also have to keep track of  your inventory for both the sake of freshness and your finances – all of which Martha Stewart’s Meal Delivery Service Marley Spoon solves.

Martha & Marley Spoon provides the perfect proportions of fresh, high quality ingredients needed to recreate each recipe.  You only need to provide the basics, such as: salt, pepper and oil.  It completely eliminates wasted produce while allowing variety – issues I’ve frequently encountered while cooking for only two people.   I can appreciate 100% not having to eat ground round three times a week to avoid spoils.

The recipes themselves are easy enough where you don’t have to be a professional chef or slave over a stove for hours.  Instead, Martha & Marley Spoon recipes are guaranteed to have 6 steps and completed in 40 minutes.  Don’t confuse simplicity for inadequacy – even I was impressed with what I made.

I loved not having to plan what’s for dinner.  Similar to my Casual Dining experiences, the decision process once again became simple.   I simply place an order and a well insulated box arrives at my door step.   Each Martha & Marley Spoon meal comes packaged in its own paper bag.  So come dinner time, I grab a designated bag and begin.

I honestly was impressed with how simple it was to make such a beautiful meal.  If I were a guest at my own dinner, I would have never guessed it came from a meal delivery program let alone cost $12.00 per serving.  The program allows complete flexibility – you can choose both the quantity and frequency of the meals you desire.  Keep in mind, the meal programs range from $8.70 – $12.00 per serving depending on its size and frequency.  (Martha & Marley Spoon is available in the US).

Having received a meal plan for 2 people I appreciate Marley Spoon has such generous portions.  The “Broiled Chicken with Gazpacho” plate was enough food to feed my hungry boyfriend and myself.  I was also able to have leftovers for lunch the following day.  The plate pictured is one serving – yes I made two of these!

Martha & Marley Spoon seriously impressed me.  Maybe it’s because Martha Stewart is the genius behind the meal delivery service.  Or maybe it’s because the meals are simple and easy to make.  Can we just take a moment and appreciate how golden brown my Chicken Thighs are or how beautifully colored my Gazpacho looks?  Not only did it look appealing, the “Broiled Chicken Gazpacho” was delicious.  I would have never created this meal on my own.  Although I am familiar with the included ingredients;  I normally lack the time and creativity needed to create such a meal.   The best part of all was not having to purchase unnecessary produce.  I found the entire process of using Marley Spoon both fast and easy, characteristics I normally avoid when describing food but the end results were a delicious, healthy meal.

Marley Spoon was such a great experience that I teamed up with them to provide a $30 discount towards your first order, regardless of plan size.  Simply use the code: P25IUTN42 or the link (here).  I’m sure you’ll love Marley Spoon as much as I did.  Also stay tuned as I share with you my second meal.
