Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

Maybelline New York recently released their latest foundation creation called Fit me!  This is a new and improved formula of their existing Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, which is targeted for those with normal to oily skin.  The foundation claims it will provide a Matte and Poreless finish.  It’s technology aims at blurring pores and absorbing excess oils.  I love the sleek packaging. It is pretty enough just to keep on one’s vanity.  The glass bottle looks sleek an d more expensive than its $8.00 price tag.  Like most drugstore foundations, the Maybelline Fit Me does not come with a pump.

The Application Process:

Let me start off by stating that I do have combination skin.  My forehead and under-eyes are dry, but my cheeks tend to get oily through out the day.

I prepped my skin with the Too Faced Hangover Rx and used the Sigma F84.

I preferred the finish of the kabuki brush over the Beauty Blender because the foundation quickly sets; so you must apply this bad boy quickly to avoid a blotchy finish.

Although the line only has 12 shades, I was able to match my skin tone.  I got the foundation in 112 Natural Ivory.  I really loved how it blended into my skin perfectly without feeling heavy.  The lightweight formula leaves your skin feeling natural and smooth.

Having sun spots acne scars and freckles, this foundation provided medium coverage.

I did see my scars through the foundation even after a second application but it does cover redness.

I then set the foundation with the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation.

This combination definitely provide full coverage.

Be careful when using the powder foundation because it can easily cake-on.

The overall  results look beautiful.  The Fit me! foundation does minimize the appearance of pores for an airbrushed effect.

Initially, this foundation felt really great on my skin.  With time, I started to notice that it did cling to the dry patches on my face and almost gravitated towards every fine line and wrinkle.  As the day progressed, it almost appeared and felt as if I were wearing a face mask that dried stiff.  My skin is far too dry for this foundation’s formula.  This just goes to show that it does have the technology to absorb oil throughout the day; which makes for a perfect foundation for those with oily skin.

After noticing my skin’s reaction, I applied some MAC Fix + and was able to restore the foundation’s original texture, but could not get rid of the foundation that had settled into my wrinkles.  I definitely would NOT recommend this foundation to anyone who has dry / combination skin, but would absolutely recommend this to those who have normal to oily skin.  I loved the initial appearance and texture of the foundation and am somewhat disappointed it did not work for my dry skin but am not surprised seeing as it is targeted towards normal to oily.  Hopefully I won’t have to wait much longer for Maybelline to release Fit Me! foundation for dry skin.

Have you tried the new Maybelline Fit Me Foundation?
