Evan Rachel Wood's at the SAG Awards dominates the Red Carpet in a Blue Velvet Pantsuit and It Cosmetics

Evan Rachel Wood dominated the red carpet at the SAG Awards in a Blue, Velvet Pantsuit with a Neutral Eye and Bold Red Lip. It’s been the talk of the town that she’s wearing pants! It’s both sad and ironic to think that in 2017 this is news but to give her credit, she does so with feminine elegance – which is rare. Unlike others in the past, Evan Rachel Wood isn’t androgynous or overtly sexual in a pant suit. This is not to undermine those who wore a pretty gown or flowy hair; or to say they are not modern feminists. But rather, convey feminine beauty is not bound by conventional red carpet standards.

“One of the many things I love about Evan is she always likes to keep them guessing. So for our SAG awards look, she wanted to compliment the incredible blue velvet Altuzarra suit with a really feminine beauty look which is something we haven’t done in a while. In fact, our reference point for the day was a “Snow White fairytale.” We kept the focus on her gorgeous porcelain complexion and created a soft, gold “doll eye.” It was the perfect complement for a bold lip.”

What’s most striking in Wood’s SAG Award look is the clean, minimalistic makeup achieved with the creative execution of her makeup artist, Toby Fleishman for It Cosmetics. Although the concept was Snow White, Toby achieved something greater – the ability to convey femininity without her attire drowning out or compromising her delicate feminine features. Because let’s face it, a Blue Velvet Pantsuit is a bold fashion statement in itself. It’s clear that Wood’s not only dominated the Red Carpet, but those Blue Velvets as well.
